Repairing Gores<\/span><\/h3>\n


We have also devised a method of printing data onto thin tissue, which is then applied to a globe which has missing data. In order to do this one needs to have additional gore data as reference (from either surviving gores or another globe that is in good condition).<\/p>\n

This method of restoration I believe is ground breaking as the data being added is actually made by the original globemaker, the tissue once applied is virtually invisible<\/p> <\/div>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n

Replacement Gores<\/h3>\n

Often a very poor condition globe will turn up on the market which is unrestorable, if the globe is later than the 18th century, and the globe is not a rare one, we can offer to repair the damaged globe by recovering the globe with a suitable set of gores. We would however stress that this operation should be considered as the ‘last resort’, and that consultation with a restorer should be undertaken first.<\/p>\n
